Have the funds committed to, and granted for, nonprofit capacity-building and leadership development increased since 2003? If so, do you have any idea by how much and/or the number of grants made?

According to the Foundation Center, foundation grants as a whole have increased by approximately $10 billion since 2003. Since 2003, the allocation of that total funding committed to general/operating support has remained at 20 percent, while 30-50 percent of the funding continues to support programs. Therefore, despite the funding growth, there is still a lack of senior leadership and other resources to maximize program effectiveness and manage the organization's future success.
